Every summer, hundreds of Gulf Fritillary butterflies migrate to The Secret Garden for our passion vine and lay their eggs. We feel so lucky to experience their annual visit and we want to share the magic with all of you! 🦋 Butterfly Life Cycle Tours: Embark on a journey of exploration with our guided Butterfly Life Cycle Tours at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM on both Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th. Witness the miraculous transformation from egg to caterpillar, chrysalis to vibrant butterfly – a true testament to the magic of nature.
🔍 Free Children’s Scavenger Hunts: Spark your child’s sense of adventure with our exciting scavenger hunt as they discover the hidden secrets of our garden.
☕ Burnside Coffee: Grab a delicious coffee from our friends at Burnside Coffee Roasters to sip while you wander the garden and experience the butterflies. They will be attending both days.
🌱 Plant Sale: All perennials will be 10% off both days of the event so you can start your own butterfly haven at home and contribute to supporting their populations! We will have passion vine and CA native milkweed (available in limited supply) amongst other pollinator friendly plants.
🍦 We all Scream for Ice Cream: Leatherby’s Creamery will be serving up scoops on Saturday for the whole family from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
🎵 Sunday Serenade: Immerse yourself in the soothing melodies of Garden Strings, playing live music from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Sunday. Let the music and the fluttering butterflies uplift your spirit!
🎨 Face Painting by Liz: Liz will be offering face painting for kids & adults alike on Sunday. (Add time)
🌺 Miridae Mobile Nursery: Our friends & CA native plant experts at Miridae Living Labs will be joining us on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
