Giving Back This Holiday Season with Julie’s Purse Project

The holidays are right around the corner, bringing with them all the busy excitement we’ve come to expect. But here at The Secret Garden, we want to pause and focus on what really matters: helping others and lifting up our community. That’s why we are thrilled to once again partner with Julie’s Purse Project, a 501(c)(3) organization, to collect donations that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of women in need.

A Growing Tradition of Giving

Our customers have shown incredible generosity in the past, and together, we’ve achieved some amazing results. In 2018, we collected over 300 purses just in time to help with those affected by the Camp Fire. By 2019, that number grew to 500 purses! This year, with your help, we hope to make an even bigger impact.

How You Can Participate

From now until December 15, we are accepting donations at The Secret Garden. You can support the project in these ways:

  • Donate empty purses: We are accepting new and gently used purses in any style or size.
  • Donate essentials: Items like travel-sized toiletries, feminine hygiene products, socks, and hand sanitizers are welcome. Please keep these essentials separate from the purses, as volunteers will organize them into care kits.
  • Drop off your donations: Look for the big pink barrel in our store, where you can leave your contributions during business hours.

Small Efforts, Big Impact

Julie’s Purse Project provides women experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, or domestic violence with purses filled with essentials and encouragement. For many recipients, these small bags carry more than just practical items—they offer hope and dignity.

This is your chance to be a part of something simple yet powerful this holiday season. With just a small donation, you can make a lasting difference in someone’s life.

Thank you for your generosity and for joining us in spreading kindness and joy. Together, we can make this season about more than just gifts—we can make it about connection, compassion, and care.

We can’t wait to see how many lives we’ll touch this year.

— Warmly,
The Team at The Secret Garden
